Dunoon now has a fully qualified owner/mechanic at Dunoon Automotive on James Street. Russell’s career began with his apprenticeship at Coffs Harbour Toyota in 1989. He was then employed at Bill Buckle Toyota in Sydney in 1995 before moving on to Duncan and West in Newcastle in 1997. Russell has continuously kept up to date with new industry standards by attending many training courses throughout his career. He also has a wide range of experience with most makes and models, especially Toyota, Honda, Subaru and Mazda.
Russell Wilson, his wife Alison Pirlo and their two young sons Jack and Samuel, returned from an 8 month trip overseas late last year to find that the local garage was up for sale.
They were familiar with the garage, as Russell had worked there when Robin Ette was the owner. Within a week, they had taken over the business.
During the first few weeks the young couple had a thorough clean up and worked hard at reorganising the garage. Since then the garage’s reputation has grown and work has been non-stop.
Dunoon Automotive offers customers full car servicing (including NSW Car Log Book), regos, repairs, steering, suspension, puncture repairs, brakes, exhaust, tune-ups, timing belts, CV joints, boots and small weld repairs. Work is carried out professionally and your vehicle is treated with the utmost of care. All vehicles booked in for servicing are comprehensively checked to ensure it can be properly maintained to give you trouble free motoring. The garage also stock filters and oils; replacement globes; wipers and various other motor vehicle parts and accessories. Unleaded petrol and diesel are still available.
