It’s fresh , it’s good , it’s close by and its at least half the price you would have to pay after a drive to town…………it’s fruit and veggies and other interesting stuff at any one of our local roadside stalls. Why not save the planet, save some time , then save some money and contribute to the survival of one of our local endangered species; the battling farmer.
For lots of reasons it’s a good idea to buy your fruit, veggies and stuff from one of our local roadside stalls, honestly.

Nature Helps With Clean Up

These photos show an early morning clean up crew stopping to wash off sticky fruit juices after breakfast of all you can eat custard apples

Damaged and blown from trees by recent storm events, if the fruit was left to rot, it would become a source of disease and insect infestation for future crops.

The Rainbow and Scaly Breasted lorikeets have flown in and been singing their heads off feasting on all the sweet abundant fruit the local farmers and gardeners have seen knocked from their trees.

Monsteria deliciosa - Monster Fruit

With the district being monstered lately by wild weather events it’s a good time to look at the widely grown super resilient and hardy fruiting vine known as monsteria deliciosa or Monster Fruit.

Lots of local gardens have them and I bet they stood up better than most fruiting plants in the path of the storm. Requiring very little care and attention, the monsteria will thrive in this area if given a shady spot and something to grow up. Like dragon fruit, they cling by aerial roots to a suitable support structure and monsteria can grow in this way up to 20 metres high.
