Dear Ed,

During the recent Bali Conference on climate change attended by many world leaders, the focus was on trying to reduce green house gas emissions and that people themselves should be doing more to reduce gas emissions.

Not once during that conference, nor in the many statements made after, did anyone mention the huge greenhouse gas emissions being put out by Mother Nature herself every second of every day.

What's Fruitin'? By a Fruity Farmer - Bob's Roadside Stall

It’s fresh , it’s good , it’s close by and its at least half the price you would have to pay after a drive to town…………it’s fruit and veggies and other interesting stuff at any one of our local roadside stalls. Why not save the planet, save some time , then save some money and contribute to the survival of one of our local endangered species; the battling farmer.
For lots of reasons it’s a good idea to buy your fruit, veggies and stuff from one of our local roadside stalls, honestly.

Hayley Adds Baby Gorilla Fuzu To Her All Boy Menagerie!

Five weeks ago a famous birth took place in Taronga Zoo in Sydney. It was a baby gorilla. Mother and baby are doing well. In the weeks following the birth, The Daily Telegraph and Cumberland Newspapers ran a competition to name the baby.
Competition entrants had a choice of nine Swahili words and FUZU proved to be the most popular – it means ‘to succeed or win’. Those who chose the name “Fuzu” went into a draw to win a Taronga Zoo parent sponsorship and an exclusive tour of the gorilla enclosure. Hayley Muller WON the competition!!

History - Land Reserved for Rocky Creek Dam

In my most recent contribution on the history of North Dunoon I began by quoting from the declaration of reserve 308 on 9 December 1878 before the parish of Dunoon even had a name. That original reserve included 400 acres at the top of the rise where the Uniting Church stands and where the district water tanks are now located. I quoted the additional comment “that the land described lies partly within Forest Reserve 249 notified 15 Sep 1871”
