We had an excellent Cross Country at Corndale School on Friday 9th May. Perfect weather for everyone to get outside and enjoy a picnic lunch while watching the races! Some great efforts from Dunoon students included first places to Jazmin Bertuzzi, Oriane Villiers and Lily Mercer. Together with Liam Bertuzzi and George Nicolaou they will be competing in the Zone Cross Country at Caniaba later this month.

A very hardworking contingent of our P & C managed a successful “Charity of the Day” venture at The Channon Market in May. Mums gave up their Mothers’ Day and Dads came along in great numbers as well to work on BBQ and stall and collect donations at the gates. A wonderful effort which made over $2000 for our school. The children were there to help and to “busk” the market with marimbas and wacky instruments.

Our new Creative Arts shed has been completed and everyone is having great fun moving all the art, craft and music equipment into the space. This will be home to the marimbas and wacky instruments. Out of School Hours Care is very happy to be able to have a special place in the building as well. We will be having a celebration to mark the opening of our CAPA shed on May 30th.

New classrooms on the way soon! The process of tendering for our new school classrooms has been undertaken by the Department of Education and Training. They are hoping that work can begin this financial year. It has been 7 months since the tornado disrupted school routine so severely and students and staff have coped brilliantly with all the challenges, but the prospect of moving into permanent, new classrooms within
the year is very exciting for everybody.
