Our end of term concert and morning tea provided the perfect opportunity for children and parents to collect produce from our kitchen garden. Bags were full of lettuce, parsley, snow peas and marigold flowers, just to name a few. The harvest provided the opportunity for the children to see the fruits of their labour and the generous rewards of fresh produce. Many plants have gone to seed and next term we’ll begin seed collection ready for new planting.
Matt, our resident pianist and music teacher, provided a rich array of musical experiences for the children again this term. Only last week, the children were discovering and playing Peruvian wind instruments. During the concert, Matt provided music which the children interpreted into our garden theme; with caterpillars emerging into butterflies, seeds growing into trees and being blown around by the wind and frogs leaping.

We are always happy at the preschool for parents and their children to visit us and experience the vibrant atmosphere of Dunoon Preschool. With the final term of 2008 now upon us, our thoughts are extending to the new year and we would be pleased to meet prospective families and provide an enrolment pack with all the information needed to assist in your child’s smooth transition into preschool. Our preschool is open Monday to Thursday, 9 to 3 during school terms for children three to five years of age. We have two full time staff, Julie Ferronato (childcare worker) and Jillian Bowles (Director and early childhood teacher).
As the term begins and Christmas is close by, we begin another chapter of fun creative play based learning and watch our garden grow.
Until next time
Jillian Bowles
